BAJINA BAŠTA, day 1
Belgrade – Bajina Bašta – Rača Monastery – Bajina Bašta
- Arrival to Belgrade Airport “Nikola Tesla” and welcome by Travel Time Greek speaking professional guide.
- Departure by bus from the airport to Bajina Bašta with 1 stop for rest, coffee and meal.
- Arrival to Bajina Bašta and check in to a beautiful 4*hotel located on the main city promenade by 14h.
- After free time in the hotel, gathering of the group in front of the hotel and departure by bus to Rača Monastery (13th cent.), a true gem of Orthodox fresco-painting hidden in the wooden depths of the beautiful Tara mountain just 15 minutes away from the hotel.
- Leaving Rača Monastery by 18h and heading by bus to Godina (The Year), the shortest river in the world with its breath-taking waterfalls. Dinner in the Vrelo restaurant, a beautiful place on Godina river.
- Return to Bajina Bašta by bus. Free time and sleepover in the hotel.
BAJINA BAŠTA, day 2
Bajina Bašta – Šargan - Drvengrad - Mitrovac na Tari - Banjska stena– Bajina Bašta
- After breakfast, we go to Šarganska osmica, (The Šargan Eight), a narrow-gauge heritage railway in Serbia, running through the beautiful landscapes of Tara mountain, with national music while traveling and stops for enjoying the surrounding nature.
- We continue by bus to nearby Drvengrad (Timber Town), also known as Kustendorf and Mećavnik, a traditional village that the Serbian film director Emir Kusturica built for his movie Life Is a Miracle, placed on a hill only 300m above bus parking spot on the main regional road.
- After 2 hours free time for coffee and optional lunch, we leave Drvengrad and proceed by bus through forests to Mitrovac na Tari, our starting point to one among the best European sightseeing spots called Banjska stena (Banjska Rock). After 15 minutes break in Mitrovac na Tari in restaurant “Kačara” for refreshment we continue to Banjska stena, with first 10 km by bus to the entrance of the road to Banjska stena and afterwards by easy 850m walk the through evergreen forest.
- Return to Bajina Bašta by bus. Dinner in the hotel and sleepover.
BAJINA BAŠTA, day 3
Bajina Bašta – Stopića pećina – Sirogojno – Zlatibor – Bajina Bašta
- After breakfast and morning coffee, departure to Stopića pećina (Stopića Cave), one of the most beautiful caves in Balkans, near Sirogojno, on the slopes of Mount Zlatibor, protected by the state as the natural monument.
- Departure from Stopića pećina to Sirogojno, authentic Serbian ethno village and open-air museum covering nearly 5 hectares with all the authentic elements of ordinary life collected from all over the Zlatibor region from the 19th century. Optional lunch in Sirogojno delicious restaurant within the village is a strong recommendation.
- From Sirogojno we continue to Zlatibor for a short stroll by the lake and a coffee in some of the open air cafes in the famous touristic center.
- Return to Bajina bašta by bus. Afternoon free time until dinner in the hotel.
BELGRADE, day 4
Bajina Bašta – Rudnik – Oplenac – Belgrade
- After breakfast, morning coffee and short leisure time, we check out from the hotel and depart to Topola with its Royal complex Оplenac with 1 stop before Topola in Rudnik for coffee, refreshment and optional lunch in a local restaurant with a very nice view of the surrounding area.
- Arrival to Topola, the epicenter of the first Serbian Rebellion against Ottomans 200 years ago with Vožd Karađorđe in the main role, nowadays host of the Royal Complex of Karađorđević family, one of the most important Royal families throughout millennial Serbian history. Visit to the house/museum of King Petar I, the church and the winery.
- Departure by bus to Serbian capital – Belgrade. Arrival to Belgrade and check in to a 4* hotel in the afternoon hours. Free time until dinner in the hotel.
BELGRADE, day 5
Bajina Bašta – Rudnik – Oplenac – Belgrade
- Beginning of the panoramic city tour in the morning. We start with the Old City quarter and continue with the Republic Square with a view of the National Theatre and the National Museum, pass by the brand new Monument of Stefan Nemanja, founder of one of the most important Serbian dinasties and after that enter the new modern part of the city – New Belgrade across Old Sava Bridge built in the WWII, with passing by one of the biggest parks in Belgrade – Ušće, Palace of Serbia and Štark Arena Sports Hall, the biggest sports hall in Serbia.
- By crossing the new Ada Bridge we return to the old city part from with a view of a beautiful Ada Lake and the oldest park Topčider with the House of King Miloš Obrenović and the oldest Belgrade church – Church of Peter and Paul. Continue to the eternal house of former Yougoslav president Tito named the House of Flowers with pass by two most famous football stadiums (Red Star and Partizan) in Belgrade placed on opposite sides of Topčider Hill to reach the huge St. Sava Church where we will see the main church and the crypt of one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world, the eternal home of the last Serbian Patriarch. This monumental edition is one of the main symbols of Belgrade and Serbia.
- After the short break for refreshment and coffee we continue with the panoramic view passing by Slavija Square with the new fountain, Old Military Headquarters, the Parliament and the City Hall and finish with a visit to Belgrade Fortress and Kalemegdan Park where you will see places like the Victor Monument, the Nebojša Tower and enjoy the beautiful confluence of the Sava and the Danube River.
- Lunch in the hotel upon the city tour.
- Evening free time for optional leisure and a dinner in Skadarlija Street, one of the most famous Belgrade pedestrian zones.
BELGRADE, day 6
Belgrade – Fruška gora – Sremski Karlovci –Petrovaradin – Novi Sad–Belgrade
- Morning departure to northern region of Serbia – Vojvodina and its gems Fruška gora and Novi Sad.
- Drive to the central part of the unique mountain in Vojvodina area and National park Fruska Gora. Continue to the Novo Hopovo Monastery, one of many monasteries of this area and visit.
- After Novo Hopovo Monastery bus drive to Sremski Karlovci and walk along its beautiful baroque center: the Patriarchal Residence, the Saint Nicholas Church, the Gymnasium, the Four Lions Fountain…
- After Sremski Karlovci, short bus drive to Novi Sad, the second largest Serbian city, and visit firstly one of its most important landmarks - Petrovaradin Fortress, a former military fort of the Austrian rulers and today art center of Novi Sad, a home to famous Exit music festival.
- City tour upon arrival to Novi Sad with the following highlights: the City Hall, Cathedral, Liberty Square, the Catholic Church of Our Lady, pedestrian zone of Zmaj Jovina street... Free time for optional lunch in some of many fine restaurants in the pedestrian area.
- Return to hotel in Belgrade in the late afternoon hours. Dinner in the hotel.
BELGRADE, day 7
- After breakfast and check out, free time for exploring the largest Serbian city and leisure in Belgrade Waterfront, the newest famous Belgrade area or discovering more interesting places like Nikola Tesla Museum, Ada Ciganlija, Zemun and many other places according to your wishes and interests.
- For the end of our tour, gathering of the group and bus transfer to Belgrade Airport “Nikola Tesla”.
